As an apprentice in 1980, we stopped for breakfast. I ordered pancakes, unaware they were three huge ones. One journeymen sniggered to the other "He ordered the pancakes". When they arrived, I could see my folly. It was now a challenge! I finished but didn't eat any more that day!
Came here in the ‘90s after night shifts with my big brother. Now it’s our family tradition the morning after Oilers games. Food’s always amazing and the crepes are the best in the city. Thanks for decades of great memories!
I love your food and I hope you're well.
I love Germany and this restaurant
We absolutely love every moment at Barb and Ernie’s! Char is so wonderful, caring, and hard working! Cheers to 50 years + 50 more! 🎉

“Mom can I have pierogies?”
I attended the U of A from 1986-1991. Barb and Ernie's was a favorite hangout, especially for members of the LHSA (Lister Hall Students' Association). Loved Ernie's banter with us and definitely loved the German Bacon pancakes!!
I went to barb and Ernie’s with my parents as a child and it was always my fave breakfast in Edmonton, and eventually became my very first job at 14 years old. To this day some of my favourite childhood memories came from B&Es. So much love for this place and everyone in it
I have been visiting and immensely enjoying Barb & Ernie's Old Country Inn since the early 1980's. My son worked for their awesome team and was treated with the utmost of respect and gave him a great first work experience! Their food is consistently great!
